The 6th Canadian Agri-Food Export Gala was held on May 9, 2012 at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, as part of SIAL Canada.

This celebration of Canada’s agri-food export industry has seen the presentation of five major awards to people and enterprises for great distinction earned through their efforts in 2011.

 

THE MAJOR AWARDS WERE:

 

2012 Canadian Export Business Award

The Agri-Food Export Group presented this award to the Canadian agri-food business that has realized 2011’s most outstanding achievements on International markets.

Canada Brand Image Award 2012

This award, from the Agri-Food Export Group, goes to a Canadian agri-food business that has advantageously positioned its products on international markets by using the promise of excellence embodied in the Canada Brand, symbolized by the Maple Leaf.

The Trends and Innovation Awards

SIAL Canada awards 10 prizes to agri-food companies (who are on exhibit at SIAL Canada) who have, in the past 12 months, brought forward products noteworthy for their innovative character.

Award of Excellence for Agri-Food Export in Québec

Sponsored by the Québec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for the past 17 years, this award goes to the person who has distinguished himself or herself through exceptional contributions to Québec’s agri-food export sector.

Award of Excellence for Agri-Food Export in Ontario

The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs awarded this prize to an exporter who has successfully expanded into new markets, while demonstrating creativity and excellence on the international stage.
